Notifications highlight budget risk, approvals, and data trust events without spamming you.

What triggers notifications

  • Overspending and underfunded obligations.
  • Approvals and guardrail requests.
  • Scheduled backups and data trust events.

Daily digest + cooldown

Similar alerts are bundled into a single daily digest. If an issue stays unresolved, SlateSpend waits for the cooldown window before re-notifying.

Example

Dining Out is overspent by $120 and still unresolved.

You see one digest per day until it is fixed or the cooldown resets.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Notifications from the bell icon.
  2. Review items in the Unread tab.
  3. Take action: Review budget, Approve, or Fix data.
  4. Mark read or archive to clear the inbox.

Resolve vs archive

  • Mark resolved: hides the alert and stops repeats.
  • If the issue persists, the alert can re-open after cooldown or a meaningful change.
  • Archive: keeps history without crowding your inbox.

Tune notifications

Use the Tune notifications link on any card to adjust email and in-app delivery, quiet hours, and limits.

Troubleshooting

  • No emails: check Email preferences in Settings -> Notifications.
  • Too many alerts: tighten your rules or increase cooldown.
  • Bell count stuck: refresh or mark all as read.
